A Family Property in the North Country
We opened our doors in 1994 as a traditional bed and breakfast in Canton. What began with one room has grown to twelve units across three buildings on our 165-acre estate. Today, we focus primarily on month-long stays while still welcoming overnight guests when available.
In 1979, a Civil War vintage home at 395 Old State Road became the place where seven children were raised. In 1994, one empty bedroom opened as a bed and breakfast room. That single space expanded into twelve units across three buildings on more than 160 acres.

Evolving to Meet Change Guests Need
White Pillars began as a traditional bed and breakfast in 1994 with a single guest room in our Canton home. As the property expanded to twelve units across three buildings, the focus gradually shifted toward guests staying a month or longer. To support extended visits, kitchenettes were added to luxury rooms and suites in the Craftsman building, creating additional long-term accommodations similar to the efficiencies in the Amish Country Inn building. The original White Pillars building, once the center of the bed and breakfast, is now available as a whole house rental. Overnight stays are still welcomed when availability allows, with daily reservations accepted within one week of arrival.
Why White Pillars?
Over the years, our focus has expanded to serve both long-term guests and vacationers. Furnished efficiencies and whole house rentals in Canton support professionals, project workers, and visiting faculty staying a month or more. For group vacations, the Adirondack waterfront lodge in South Colton provides space for larger gatherings with private waterfront access and recreation amenities.
